The notion that a human can represent a celestial being on Earth, is likely profoundly flawed, in particular where human needs are denied for the sake of self-sacrifice, institutional conformity or moralistic fervour.

While the causes of clerical abuse may be debated, one thing is certain, societies will struggle to protect the weak and vulnerable, so long as there is little or no separation between church and state.

While time is of the essence, for both human, social and economic justice, potential catastrophic consequences, for human existence cannot be addressed by an institution so much the subject of animosity.
